Culture Shock
I have been here in the United States of America for one year and a half already. The first month, I was so excited about getting around American people. But in Thailand which is the country I was born in, we have many different cultures, festivals, food and greeting. When I came to United States, I was surprised because I got many hugs from people, whom I had never known them before. We don’t do that a lot in Thailand, but we just say “hello” to each other, with no shake hands or hugs. American people always smile and nice to me, even I did something wrong or by my mistakes. Food is so different between my own country and the United States. The main food in my country is rice. Also, we eat chickens, pork, or seafood. In the U.S., they have hamburgers, pizzas, tacos, and fried chicken. However, I really like food, cultures, and people in the U.S.A. a lot.
