Encourage to try new things
Summary:
In ESL class Mr. took out an envelope. Mr. said, “Anybody wants this? If you want come to get it.” I didn’t know what that was, so didn’t get it. However, Edward went to get it. Then he opened it was empty. After that, Mr. said, “If there has 10 dollar in this envelope would you get it?” My answer is, “NO!”
Mr. told us his story when he was in college, during the orientation a teacher said to all fresh men, “I have a gift for you if you want, come to get it” but nobody moved. For a while the teacher said, “There has 10 some money in this envelope if you want comes to get it,” Mr. stood us and went to get it. He opened it and there was 1 dollar and 20 cents in envelope, most of people in the hall, laughed at him. The teacher took out another envelope and said the same thing many people stood up and went to get the envelope.
According to this story Mr. told us the first one who didn’t know there has some money inside, but he went to got it. He would has a bright future.
Lesson: encourage to try new things
My experience:
I am an Asian, so there are many tradition ideas in my brain. After I arrived in America, I felt really uncomfortable because they are too passion! They kiss and hug for friend. Many girls say,“Hello” to me, it make me felt very embarrassed. However after two month I accepted American culture. When I face American girls’ passion, I can give smile to them.
