Activity

We had a fun activity in ESL writing class that we enjoy each other. The activity was drawing each other’s face on the glass. I said I don’t want a do it, but other students want a do it. So we started to drawing. For example, Aaron and Seon-jin draw each other’s face, and Tatum draw Jacky’s face. Mr. Nakagawa draw Tatum’s face. Looking at the pictures, I had fun. Seon-jin was freaked out for Aaron draw her badly. She think it’s not like her, but Aaron praise his picture himself. Everybody said I have to in it too, but I run away from them. Trying to draw my face, they were disappointed. I keep saying I don’t want a do it. Considering my opinion, Mr. Nakagawa made them finish drawing. If Mr. Nakagawa keep that pictures, he may think his students and fun experience.

Homecoming Week

There were 2 favorite events that will stay in my head for forever. First was a homecoming football game. TMP school students gather around at the Fort Hays University’s football field and cheer for our team. Even the football team lost I had a lot of fun. I do not have many of friends right now but I made few of new friends at the football game. It was really fun, and talked with new friends. I felt that even out of the school people can make friends during other school activities. I had great time at the football game. Second, it was a homecoming dance party. I really did not want to go to the dance party since I do not dance a lot. However, I had so much fun! I took picture with some friends and dance with them. It was great! I thought I was not going to dance but I danced. I was pretty impressed myself. Now I am waiting for the dance party. Since I had so much fun I want to go and dance and hang out with friends again. This homecoming was a great homecoming and I had really fun.

Homecoming week
My fantastic week I have ever had is homecoming week. There were 2 activities that I liked the most. Especially on Monday I enjoyed it a lot, also my friends, we had a blast. On last Monday, we had half day schedule, and all the students had Barbeque together. I was so hungry, so I ate 2 burgers, hot dog, and chips. After we all got done eating Barbeque, we had an activity called tug a war, which who ever lose will get dirty by mud. Some of the teachers also joint us, and they defeated seniors. On Saturday, it was a homecoming dance, which it started at 8.00 to 11.00 p.m. I went to the dance with my friends about 10 of us. The time was going really fast, when I was dancing. I love that night a lot. I hope I will have a wonderful week like homecoming week again soon.

GREAT HOMECOMING WEEK

There were two favorite events that I loved at homecoming week. They are bonfire and homecoming dance. First is bonfire, before beginning put a fire on the woods, I saw homecoming king and queen candidates and we broke a car, breaking car was fun but looked really dangerous. My friends and I took a lot of funny pictures in front of bonfire. When they started to get fire on woods, I was really excited to see fire because I never seen that huge woods for fire. After getting fire on woods, the fire started to become bigger and bigger. Also the fire was really hot so I moved far away from fire and felt like my skin is burning. After that, the class chant was started and senior chant was last. When I got on the train and sang the chant with my friends, finally senior got first and I was so excited. Second is homecoming dance. I think dance is most important event of homecoming because everybody buys dresses and tuxedos, ask someone to be a partner and prepare to be fancier. In the Saturday morning, I took a shower and started to curl my hair even though dance start at 8:00 am. I ate less food than I usually eat food. My friends helped me makeup. After my friends and I got the homecoming dance, I took a lot of picture with my friends and talked about our dresses. When I danced with friends, I took off my shoes and danced destroying my makeup and hair. In the middle of dance place was really crowded so everybody pushed each other, but it was fun. Mr. Nakagawa put dance music and it made atmosphere excited. I was tired after dance but I enjoyed a lot. I like homecoming dance.

Homecoming week Activities

During homecoming week, I enjoyed mud tug a war and dress up. When they called the 7 people for each grade, I was scared. Because I don’t want a get dirty. After stucco member called all junior, I signed out. Because I saw the mud tug a war in front, I can see very well. When people fell to the mug, my friends and I step back for not dirty. It was really funny to see other person included teachers. When they fell to the mud, their face and clothes are getting dirty. Because they don’t want a fell to the mud, they face seems aggressive. During the game, I get dirty, but I didn’t mind. Because I really enjoyed mud tug a war. On dress up day, I really surprised. I never saw the people wear light yellow and orange. It looks funny to see other person’s dress code. Some people were light yellow top and leggings with short purple skirt, another group were light orange. Even if I saw the guy wears skirt. I impressed a lot that day. I think school has to make a rule about the dress up day.

I got the dream on my bed on Friday when I was sleeping in my room after light out. I saw I was hung out with my friend, and played baseball together after few minute my friend started to hit me because this is a dream, so I didn’t know why my friend started to hit me by the ball. When my friend hit me at the time I ran away, and called my other friend said help by the phone in the school. I was never before my arrived because that had weapon could kill me, but that could not kill me in the school because my friend was come. When that tried to fire my roommate Ajay woke me up on my bad because bus would come to dorm one minute.

I am Jacky Yu. I am from Taiwan. I am 16 years old. I have parents and one young sister. She is 12 yeas old. My eye got the hurt when I play baseball. I remember that day I could not see the ball, so I tried to find ball. When I found the ball was came to my left eye, and I could not see anything in from of my eyes, but my eye was not hurt. I felt numb, and I could see what’s going on before I came to American. That was cool because everything showed in my eyes, and I could not see everybody, but I still can here that called my name. My goal for ESL is pass ESL. I need to learn more words, writing skill better, and get more idea because that can make me make a good essay. If I need to pass class, I must be nice with Mr. Nakagawa because he is a teacher, if I do not be nice for him. He will give me ESL next year again. In my opinion if I need to make good essay. It's my second year in TMP, and I was improve a lot. for example, last year, when I was the first time in TMP I could not speak any English, I remembered that when I arrived in hays airport who is the RA form TMP he took me back to the nation's hall. on the way, he asked me some questions like what's your name, how old are you, but I could not understood. I just asked "what, what?" he tried explained to me, but I still could not understood. that was a bad memory in my life. Now, I take the ESL class, I learn lots of English skills, like writing, listing, reading and speaking.

We designed the letter shape on paper and talked about it with teachers. When we wrote the letters on the paper in the ground, it was hard to write because the ground was rough. After we wrote the “Seniors”, Rymondo drew the earth in two zero and it was accurate and cool.

Before I went to the church, I wonder why people went to the church and why they crazy about Jesus. After I start to go church, I understand their mind. My favorite basketball player
Basketball is one of the sports that I like the most. I like to play basketball, and I like to watch basketball games on ESPN. My favorite team is Los Angeles Lakers, yet my favorite player is Kobe Bryant. He is the best basketball player ever in NBA as good as Michael Jordan. He has yellow, or purple jersey and shorts, his number is 24. He is the leader in the team, and he made the team won championship 2009 against Orlando Magic team, therefore, he was the most valuable player of 2009 in NBA league.

INTRODUCING OF MYSELFI am going to introduce myself, I am Seonjin, 18years old. I can’t believe I am adult already. I attended Korean high school until my junior first semester, but I thought that I needed to improve my English, so I went to Kansas last year as a exchange student at Stockton high school it was really nice school, and I enjoyed my ten months. Right now, I am a new student at TMP high school, so I don’t have any day student friends. However, I will make them to open mind for myself. Introducing about my family, I have two mothers, two fathers, brother and sister because I have real family in korea and host family in kansas. I am so glad about becoming their family. Also my host family have puppy, his name is Pangu which means ‘fart’ for Korean. I hate to ride the airplane, but I want to be a flight attendance. Also, I want to be a cook too. I am not good at writing English so want to improve my writing skills. First, I need to read a lot of books so I realize how my writing is wrong. To read book, I should go to library and read various books. Also I need to read newspapers to figure out how author write journal. Second, I need to memorize a lot of vocabularies because the words in my journal are limited and not fit in sentence. So I will write vocabulary in my paper whenever there are words that I don’t know and bring vocabulary paper to memorize everywhere. Third, I need to learn correct grammar. Whenever I write journal, I feel difficulty about English grammar. So I will study Tofel grammar about 30 minutes every night and ask questions about grammar to RA or teachers. Fourth, I should think more about journal topic to write deep writing. I need to read other people’s journal to refer the idea. Also I can research the related information with journal topic on internet, books and newspaper. Finally, I should write a lot of times. I will write my journal over and over until it is perfect by asking teachers or RA and will note down my mistakes on journal by writing on paper.

About Myself

I’m Marie Yang, and I was borned January,7,1992 in Jeon-ju, South Korea. When I was kindergarten student, I was very wild. I don’t know what it is, but my thought changed myself. As I grew up, I become a shy person. Traveling is the one of biggest effect for me to become different. When I went to Canada for 2weeks, I loved it. That experiment made me to go studying abroad. Also, traveling became one of my favorite hobbies. The other thing was my dream. When I heard about what is diplomat and who work in the UN, I wanted to be one of them. So I came to learn English even though it was extremely hard. I changed my school this year for my future University. After I came this school, I made a new goal about writing. After taking test, I had to take ESL writing. That makes me frustrated and disappointed at myself. So my goal is about be a good writer. First of all, I have to memorize alot of vocabulary, because vocabulary is basic of writing. To memorize, use the vocabulary book and write down on the paper. Second, I have to read book a lot. I read a lot textbooks; history, chemistry, and English. All the time, I read book for ready for the test and study. If I keep read English book or newspaper that give a lot of information for making support sentence. Third, I have to keep writing. I write journal everyday for homework. I have to do brainstorming before write journal. Also I have to write journal with examples and supporting information. For next, I have to get good grade. If I want a get good grade, I have to study grammar also. For study grammar, I have to read English book once a week and practice writing grammar. For last, I have to get out of ESL writing. Today in the class, the teacher tough us don’t write the thing in the essay because if you use the thing in the essay everybody cannot understand what’s your mean of thing. Sometime I wrote the thing in the sentence, and then Mr. would give me what’s your thing mean? When I knew that, I begin to fix don’t write the thing in the essay. Today the teacher also touch us how to change thing to other word skill. For example in the class teacher show us some sentence which one have the thing, and then he told us you can erase the thing then find the word which one can change the thing. In my opinion the teacher is right because the thing have a lot of scope, so we need to find one very strong scope word and then use.

What are we doing at Night time?


I do a lot of things at night. I think that includes all the people in the world. I was brainstorming about the night that what I am doing during the night time. I had a lot of things that what think about the night time. So I am going to talk about what I thought.
First that I thought about the night was the television programs or the T.V. shows. Because in the morning there is no entertaining T.V. shows that we can watch. However at the night time there are a lot of good shows like “Everybody loves Raymond” or some sports games on ESPN.
In addition I thought about hanging with my friends. In the morning during weeks I have to go to school but during the weekends I have to sleep for a long time. So I only hang with my friends during night like between 7 and 12 it is more fun than hanging out during the morning.
I have a lot of things that I enjoy to doing during the night time or I have to do. However the worst thing at the night time is that I have to do my homework….

Power of dream

If you have dream about future, you can be an advance. Because nowadays, 7 out of 10 student don’t have dreams. They don’t know what university they desire to go or what they want a become. That’s a biggest problem. There has a proverb in Korea. “If you have dream, your future is half succeed.” That means you are approaching to your future. Isn’t it amazing? Thinking about future, the people who didn’t have dream will not happy although they have job. They will complain all the time. However the people, who have dream and pursuit it, will be happier and proud of theirself. Sadly,everybody can’t achieve their dream. We have to have ability. We have to strengthen our ability. That’s why we keep studying. So don’t give up the your dream and keep pushing yourself. Dream is propellant and makes you go forward.

Most of crimes happen at night because darkness of night make the world to be quite. So police are busy and sensitive. Sometime my parents worried about I go outside alone at night. Also, The reason that people like to watch horror movies at night is because night make people to feel scare. When I was young, I couldn’t go to sleep without light or my parents after watching scared movie. However, I have lots of time that I can think about lots things, for example next day, myself, my family, future, friends. After working homework, I am relax so I do whatever I want like watching the TV, movie, chatting with friends. Especially I like to talk with my family at the night, I think the reason that my family is really close together is because we talk about their day and friends and school and workplace.
So that time is my favorite time at night. Also I like to eat food at 10:00~11:00pm because I am hungry at that time usually. I eat fried chicken, noodle, sandwich or pizza, so I eat the food thinking about my fat. However, since I stayed in America, sometimes night make me to miss my family and friends. I don’t know why. Whenever I miss my family and friends, I call to them or write email or look the picture.
So night is good time and bad time to me.
